Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the OVI platform ("OVI," the "Service") operated by OVI Systems ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What OVI is
OVI is an AI-powered study and reference tool for pilots and aviation professionals. It answers questions grounded in aviation manuals and publications provided by us or by your organization. OVI is currently in private beta.
Important safety notice. OVI is a study aid and reference tool. It is not a substitute for official flight manuals, company manuals, FAA publications, checklists, dispatch, ATC, a certified flight instructor, a designated examiner, or your own judgment as pilot in command. Never use OVI output as the authoritative source for operational decisions. Always verify critical information against the governing document and applicable regulations.
2. Eligibility and access
OVI is offered to pilots, student pilots, flight instructors, flight schools, airlines, and aviation training organizations. During private beta, access is by invitation only. You must be at least 16 years old to use OVI. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and access codes confidential and for all activity under your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying content libraries for redistribution.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute OVI or its output without our written permission.
- Use OVI to generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes anyone's rights.
- Upload content you do not have the right to use.
- Use OVI for operational, safety-critical decisions in lieu of official sources (see Section 1).
- Interfere with, probe, or overload the Service (automated querying, DoS, etc.).
4. Content and intellectual property
- Our IP. The OVI platform, branding, software, pipeline, prompts, and interface are our property and protected by intellectual-property laws.
- Source content. Aviation manuals, regulations, and publications ingested into OVI remain the property of their original rights holders (e.g., FAA, airline operators, publishers). OVI provides commentary, retrieval, and synthesis, not ownership of those documents.
- Your content. You retain ownership of questions you ask and materials you upload. You grant us a limited license to process that content to operate and improve the Service.
- AI output. OVI's answers are generated by AI models. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You are responsible for verifying output before relying on it.
5. Private beta — service is "as is"
OVI is in active development. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. We may pause, rate-limit, or revoke access at our discretion during beta. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OVI Systems and its affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold OVI Systems harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time during beta, with or without cause or notice. Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 survive termination.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
